A few key terms in our field of work will help make your move go smoothly:
Site: The location of the building where it is now and where it is going to. The site conditions are the responsibility of the customer. It has to be accessible, drive-able, level and firm, of suitable size for truck and building and clear of any debris and obstructions to operate safely.
Transport: This means we come after your house is already prepped. We come, hook up and haul the house. This does not include jacking, prepping or setting the house.
Prepping: This means the building is clear of skirting, the tires are installed and spin, the brakes are not locked up, the sewer and water are unhooked, the building is jacked up, the building is clear of bricks and is supported just by the tires on level ground, the hitch is installed safely and securely and the house is inspected to ensure that it is in satisfactory condition to move.
Setting: This means once the building has arrived on it's new site the tires and hitch are removed, it is properly blocked and leveled. If the building is a sectional, the buildings are attached back together and insulation is properly placed. Anchoring is not included in setting.
Anchoring: This means installing ground anchors according to manufactures specifications and strapping the building to the anchors.
Skirting: This means installing the paneling from the bottom of the house to the ground.
Utility hook-ups: We do not do these due to conflicting building codes. They include the water, sewer, gas, and electric.
Tax Clearance Sheets: They are from the treasurers office from the county where the building is located currently. The county issues a tax sheet that say we are okay to move the building and that all prior taxes are paid up-to-date. We cannot move your house without this.
Our business is dependent on the weather. To see if we are moving now, just contact us. We do schedule select hauls during the winter months, but they will be more expensive due to the risk associated with the weather.
If you would like to schedule a transport, call us at 218-983-3568. It is important when calling that you know the size, year and preferably manufacturer of the building. Also, we need exact physical addresses of both sites before you call. This helps everything run smoothly.
